Obituary for Earl Stanford Justice

Print
Earl Stanford Justice, son of Stanford Justice and the late Winnie Grace Wharton Justice, was born in Makemie Park, Virginia on December 13, 1947. He departed this life on Friday, September 28, 2018 at his home in Temperanceville, surrounded by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Louvenia and one of his sons.

Earl received his education in the Accomack County Public Schools. He spent twelve years in the United States Army, including one tour of duty in Vietnam, where he earned the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart. His other awards include: three Army Commendation Medals, four Good Conduct Medals, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and numerous others. Earl also served in Korea and Germany. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him. He loved his family, his country, and the military.

After separating from service, he worked at Tyson Foods for eighteen years, as a live haul truck driver. He was known as “215” in the Army and by his co-workers and friends as “Backroad.” At an early age, Earl joined Jerusalem Baptist Church in Temperanceville, Virginia.

Earl was preceded in death by his mother, Winnie Grace Wharton Justice and brother, Tommy Lee Justice. He leaves behind his wife of forty-nine years, Louvenia Justice; five daughters, Patricia Smith, Earlene Holden, Cindy Hicks, Christie, and Wendy Justice; five sons, Leroy and Wallace (Linda) Smith, James, Jeffery (Juanita), and Glenn Justice; twenty-four grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; his father, Stanford Justice; two brothers, Ronnie and Stevie (Rosie) Justice; two sisters, Connie (Al) Needham and Linda (Richard) Justice; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
