Ronnie Finney, son of the late Dorsey and Viola Kellam Finney and Herbert “Peanut” Finney, was born on August 13, 1950 in Modest Town, Virginia. He departed this life on June 18, 2019 at his residence.

Ronnie was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Army. While serving his country, Ronnie received many certifications and awards. After his honorable discharge, he entered the workforce and was employed in various industries throughout his life.
Ronnie met Terry Hightower in the 7th grade and it was love at first sight in the sandbox. They dated all through high school and married soon after. They were blessed to share forty-nine years of marital bliss. In fact, Terry affectionately referred to him as “Sweetie.” As a result of their union, they shared the love of three wonderful children.
In his leisure, Ronnie enjoyed listening to music, entertaining guest, grilling, and drag racing. He truly enjoyed life! He will be remembered for his contagious smile and jovial spirit.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his favorite aunt, Polly Fosque; a granddaughter, Shai Finney; and two brothers, Albert Drummond and Walter Bloxom.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his loving wife of forty-nine years, Terry H. Finney; two sons, Ronnie T. Finney and Jonathan (Philista) Finney; one daughter, Tanya (Michael) Dana; two grandchildren, Rayon Finney and My’Anna Finney; four siblings, Tyrone (Mary) Bloxom, Donnie Bloxom, Diana McBride, and Burno (Mary) Dennis; sister-in-law, Regina (Charles) Bagwell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
