He received his education in the public schools of Accomack County. At an early age, Norman confessed to Christ and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He remained a dedicated member until illness and death took its toll.
Norman was married to Pearl Lena Davis until her demise in 1971. He later remarried Marie Harmon Davis, until she preceded him in death. He held several jobs, but farming was his love, which he did until health and age took its toll.
Norman was a quiet, humble man. He loved his family dearly, especially the young ones, whom he would occasionally take to the stores for snacks and ride them on his tractor through the fields. When school was in session, he would sit in his car in the driveway to make sure they all got on the bus safely. Norman has definitely played a major role in all of our lives.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Arthur, Lynwood, Sr., James, and Robert, Sr.; three sisters, Luvenia, Marion, and Lula Mae; and nephew, Robert, Jr. “Tramp.”
Left to cherish his memories are his nieces, Barbara Davis, his caregiver, Rosabeth Matthews, Wynatia Laws, Ann Wharton, Marilyn Graves, Betty Robinson, Janice Davis, April Davis Graham, and Crystal Copes; nephews Lynwood Davis, Jr. and Damien; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
