Mary Elizabeth Johnson, the beloved daughter of the late James Moore and Helen Carter Moore, was born on October 25, 1938 in Accomack County, Virginia. She went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family on August 6, 2019.

Mary was educated in the public schools in Accomack County. Years later she met and married the late Richard Johnson, Sr.
Mary was known by her family as “Mary Lizzy,” “Mrs. Mary,” and even “Mary Shout.” She was a loving, kind-hearted person who would give you her last. She loved cooking for her family, watching the soap operas, and watching her favorite football team, The Dallas Cowboys.
Mary was employed by Vankastern Farms and Taylor and Fulton, to name a few. First and foremost, she accepted the Lord as her personal savior. She enjoyed going to church and taking care of the kids. She made sure the family was never hungry or in need of anything.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Naomi and Isabelle; two sons, Johnny and Curtis; one grandson, Patrick; three brothers, Noah, Clyde, and James; one sister, Mary Helen; and father-in-law, Johnny, Sr.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Daisey Mae (Johnny) Edmond of Homestead, FL, Richard (Joyce) Johnson, Margaret Johnson, David Johnson, all of Parksley, VA, Mary (Wendell) Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA, and Patricia Johnson (Danny Savage, Sr.) of Painter, VA; one daughter-in-law, Betty Johnson; one brother-in-law, Henry Tankard; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; twelve great, great-grandchildren; special friend, Nanny Douglas; special companion, Lily; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
