Clarence G. Greene, beloved son of Addie Greene and the late Clarence Greene, was born on July 28, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York.

Clarence was educated in the public school system in Brooklyn and graduated from New York City Community College. He loved music and sports from an early age. He played on several basketball and softball teams until recent years. He also enjoyed fishing, the “soaps,” and the casino.

Clarence has many fond memories of Accomac dating back to his childhood days, when he and his brother would spend every summer with family and friends. Most recently, on August 17 at the annual “Accomac Day,” he proudly provided whatever assistance was needed to ensure a successful community day cookout.

Clarence started working for the U. S. Postal Service on September 19, 1979; he celebrated forty years of service, accomplishing a lifetime goal. While at work, at 10:21 AM, God called Clarence home. His family and friends were devastated and left with the knowledge that there is an appointment time for everything, as recorded in Ecclesiastes 3-we know that God does not make mistakes.

Clarence was preceded in death by his step-sister, Marilyn Greene Walkes; aunts, Mabel (Van) Vandurk, Emma (Charlie) Lilliston, Catherine (Howard) Conquest, and Mary Boulds Bailey; and good friend, Herbert Custis.

He leaves fond memories in the hearts of his beloved mother, Addie; brother, Wayne; niece, Michelle Sledge; nephew, Eddie Sledge; godsister, Shawanna Francis; and other relatives and friends.
