Obituary

On Friday, November 1, 2019, God in His infinite wisdom called home his son, Warren Thomas Cutler at his residence in Oxen Hill, Maryland. He was born on July 1, 1949 in Parksley, Virginia to the late William “Bill” White and Annie Mary Abbott-Cutler. “Peddie Cutler,” as he was affectionately known, was reared in Mappsville, Virginia.

Peddie was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and was a graduate of Mary N. Smith High School. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army.

After his discharge from the Army, Peddie relocated to Washington, DC to begin a new life. There he worked in various jobs, mainly as a maintenance technician in the hotel industry. He was also a truck driver for the Salvation Army and lastly, Tropical Foods, where he worked until his retirement.

In 2017, Peddie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the Restoration Bible Church in District Heights, Maryland under the leadership of Apostle Alfie S. Lewis.

Peddie will be remembered for his love and devotion for the Dallas Cowboys. He was a die-hard fan; you couldn’t get him to switch his team no matter how hard you tried. He was a loving husband, great father, and caring friend to many. Peddie was a mentor for his grandchildren and they had the utmost respect for him. He had a generous heart and was willing to help anyone he came in contact with.

Peddie was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Bobby Broadwater; son-in-law, Andre Hagood; and brother, Daryl West.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife, Caprice Johnson-Cutler of Capitol Heights, MD; one son, Warren Zachary of Austin, TX; eleven daughters, Pamela Cutler of Mappsville, VA, Kimberly (Cedric) Kirby, Shawn (Michael) Johnson, GiaVonna (Charles) Manor, all of Austin, TX, Shaleta Smith of Houston, TX, Tylisha Cutler-Hagood of Salisbury, MD, Sybria Cutler, Chambria Johnson, both of Capitol Heights, MD, Sieda Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO, TroVonda Howell of Capitol Heights, MD, and Diane Brown of Trenton, NJ; twenty-four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Josephine (Vincent) Copes of New Church, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
