Henry Stewart Lewis, affectionately known as Stewart, was born on November 25, 1935 to the late Henry and Helen Byrd Lewis in Accomack County, Virginia. He departed this life on November 26, 2019 at Heritage Hall Nursing Center in Nassawadox, Virginia.
Henry received his education in the Accomack County Public School system. He joined First Baptist Church in Mappsville, at an early age and continued his spiritual journey. Henry was employed at Perdue Farms in Accomac, as a Sanitation Supervisor for over thirty years. After his retirement from Perdue, he became a truck driver for Wharton Moving Company.
Henry had a passion for collecting antique cars, riding motorcycles, watching Westerns, and football. He was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan. Henry will ultimately be remembered for his dancing skills and infectious smile, as well as his kind and compassionate spirit.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Rinnie Sue Lewis, whom he shared forty-two years with, and a daughter, Surong Lewis.
He is survived by: two sons, Terry Lewis of Accomac, VA and Kervin (Phyllis) Lewis of Mappsville, VA; stepson, Willie (Celestine) Hargis of Parksley, VA; stepdaughter, Patricia Byrd of Salisbury, MD; two devoted sisters, May Frances Lewis Dickerson Blunt of Snow Hill, MD and Deloris Cox Johnson of Silver Springs, MD; sister-in-law, Virginia Riley of Parksley, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
