Ellen Marie Nock Douglas was born on August 26, 1949 to the late Hurbert Nock and Vergie Johnson. After a brief illness, her earthly life ended on April 8, 2020 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.

Ellen Marie received her education in the public schools of Accomack County. She became a food inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), serving at Perdue Farms in Accomac. Ellen dedicated many years until she retired in 2018.
Ellen Marie was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Wattsville, Virginia. In 2017, she joined the congregation at House of Prayer United Methodist Church in Bloxom, Virginia, under the leadership of Rev. Gregory L. Duncan, Sr. She remained a faithful member of until her passing.
Ellen Marie leaves to cherish her memories: six children, Terrence (Caretta) Douglas of Temperanceville, VA, Toi D. Beckett of Princess Anne, MD, Dermetric Douglas of Pocomoke City, MD, Darren Douglas of El Paso, TX, Patricia Cropper of Raleigh, NC, and Bonnie Cropper of Salisbury, MD; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Regina (Wardell) Christopher of Newport News, VA, Sharon (Wayne) Dix of Woodbridge, VA, and Linda (Lafayette) Palmer of El Paso, TX; one brother, Bruce Douglas of Lawrenceville, GA; one goddaughter, Paula Turner; two close friends, Elizabeth Turner Goodwine and Vernell White; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
