Obituary

William Isaac Robinson, III, known to many as “Bruh,” was born on June 26, 1934 to the late William Isaac and Lillie Mae Fitchett Robinson, Jr. in Northampton County, Virginia. He departed this life on April 27, 2020 at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia.

William attended the schools in Northampton County. In later years, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country. He received awards in special forces and golden gloves, before he was honorably discharged. After his military career ended, he joined the trucking industry. This was his passion, and he drove for over forty years.

William loved sports, especially baseball and was a phenomenal pitcher. He also enjoyed playing solitaire and watching Westerns in his spare time.

William accepted Christ and joined Antioch Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Calvin Washington, Sr. He loved the Lord and enjoyed attending Bible classes, where he received several certificates.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William “Pee Wee” Wynder; sisters, Virginia Ives, Annie Mae Weeks, Estella Tate, and Bessie Hyslop; and a brother, Quinton Garrett.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three daughters, Brenda Robinson of Birdsnest, VA, Gail (Charles) Trower of Eastville, VA, and Vanessa Rowley of Suffolk, VA; two sons, Keith (Rhoda) Robinson of Birdsnest, VA and Isaiah (Carrie) Custis of Harrington, DE; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; six great, great-grandchildren; loving caregiver, Mocile Brickhouse; good friend, George Upshur; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

    Notes
In the light of the evolving situation with COVID-19 virus, we are making adjustments to adapt to the current health emergency. In order to reduce the spread of the virus in our community, we are limiting the public’s access to our facility. We will continue to serve our families with the utmost dignity, as well as maintain the safety guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). We have received notification from the Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers that funeral homes are included in the Governors Executive Order Fifty-Three (2020), which imposes the following restriction: Effective 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2020 until 11:59 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2020, all public and private in person gatherings of 10 or more individuals are prohibited. In accordance with the Governor's Executive Order Fifty-Three, Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Inc. will comply and hold all services private until further notice. We will not have any public viewings. In an effort to accommodate family and friends, we are posting photos and the funeral/graveside service video of your loved ones on their respective Book of Memory pages on our website, www.cooperandhumbles.com. This will allow you to have a lasting memory picture and attend the service virtually. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time and as soon as this matter is resolved, we will resume our normal practices.
