Melvin worked for Public Works in Accomac, Virginia for twenty years. He was forced to retire due to his health. Upon retirement, he became a taxi, day care provider, and health care provider. He loved his family and would help all of them without hesitation. He spent most of his day watching harness races via the internet, and watching The Young and the Restless and the Bold and the Beautiful.
Melvin saw the good in everybody and everything. In the midst of adversity instead of being angry he would say “It will be alright, I’m just going to let GOD take care of it.”
He was preceded in death by both parents, Willie and Elizabeth Nock; brother, Curtis Nock; mother-in-law, Corine Taylor; and sister-in- law, Janice Gaskins.
