“Nette Nette,” as she was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. After graduating from high school, she began working at McDonald’s in Pocomoke, Maryland for a few years. She later gained employment with Holly Farms. She worked there for several years until her health began to fail.
At a young age, “Nette Nette” became a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was a faithful, humble, and committed servant of God and her church. Whenever she was asked to take part in the service, her answer was always yes and she did it to the best of her ability. “Nette” was a praiser who enjoyed singing on the choir, even when she was the only one singing, she sang her own songs. She had a unique style and never tried to mimmick anyone else.
“Nette” wore her heart on her sleeve. The compassion she had for her family and friends will live on forever in our hearts. She enjoyed her daily outings with the Community Service Board; taking trips, shopping at different venues, meeting people along the way. She always greeted them with a pleasant smile, especially if she knew them. “Nette” will be missed tremendously by everyone who knew and loved her, especially her brother, David, they were inseparable. No matter what she went through, he always had her back, making sure that his sister was alright. Life will not be the same without her, but we know she’s alright now.
“Nette” leaves to cherish her memories her brother, David (Margaret) Bowser; sister, Delia Trader; two aunts, Ellen Bowser and Dorothy Beasley Bowser; one uncle, Charles Godwin, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
